ORDINARY MEN--EXTRAORDINARY RESULTS!

It's early Sunday morning. It rained last night to freshen everything up again. I love Sundays! We get to get together as the Forever Family of God and we get to worship the most awesome God of all!

I will be speaking about the fact that God takes delight in using the most ordinary of us to do His greatest work. For instance, I am astonished that God chose to link the once in history plan of redemption with "the most ordinary, average group of 12 guys"! There were no super stars among the disciples--only the most common, average guys--fishermen, a low level tax collector, small town workers, etc.  Why?  God could have chosen anyone with any amount of skills or abilities.

And then I think about my calling to preach--God must have seen some talent in me!  Until I remember...God one time used a dumb donkey to speak His message to Balaam, so I guess maybe it's not about the messenger at all....and it's all about the message!

Looking forward to sharing worship with you in a few hours!!

I've been thinking about this question this week:  For what would I be willing to die?  There aren't very many things so important to me that I'd sacrifice my own physical life to protect. Matthew 10:26-33 has been a help to me in this & I will be using it for my text this coming Sunday.  Any thoughts out there?

Last week I encouraged us all to be "contagious Christians". I'm wondering if there are any stories out there where that has happened to you in these past few days.
I'm going to be talking about the power of the Holy Spirit tomorrow morning (Sunday-5/12). I hope to see you all there and to hear in conversation of how God is working in and through all of us to reach our world with the Gospel of Christ.
My question for us to ponder this weekend is this: "What are we doing that can only be explained by the Holy Spirit at work in and through us?"
