I'm considering John 1:14, 17. What does the Word mean saying that Jesus was FULL of grace & truth?

  1. Full: Replete or covered over....complete. (...with a thank you to Strong’s Concordance, Greek word #4134)

That is a phrase I usually just skim over. However, now that you've brought it up..... That Jesus is full of grace AND truth tells me He gives lavishly to me even though He knows all. What a wonder.

  2. Grace and Truth are so often seen as contrasting principles. For instance Truth is crisp, with clear boundaries--legalistic, demanding, firm, etc. Grace is inclusive, accepting, non-judgmental, etc. But Jesus somehow saw them both as essentials for life. Somehow He did not play them against each other, but was filled with both grace & Truth simultaneously. We need that!
